Photoshop CC: No JPEG Option (wrong image mode)

So, I have Photoshop CC and I had to re-install it recently. Before, if worked fine. Now, as I click 'Save As' and the drop down list appears, JPEG isn't an option anymore. I used the scanner of my printer and it all seems to be uploaded as a 'Bitmap'. I'm not tech savey, like, at all so I have no idea what that means but I think maybe it might have something to do with my problem. Any help out there?

JPEG will only be available if your image can be saved as JPEG.
JPEG only supports grayscale, RGB, and CMYK in 8 bits/channel.

If you image is in BitMap mode, that means it is 1 bit/channel, and cannot be saved in JPEG format.
