Gosh Adobe CC Photoshop is acting SO sluggish today. I've been a subscriber basically since the cc product came out and have never experienced ghosting, and saving issues like I have the past 24 hours. Is anything in-particular happening on the server end that would result in slow service?

Photoshop CC doesn't have a "server end."

And is it crashing or just running slow?

What OS version are you using?

What else has changed on your system since it was working normally? Added fonts, utility programs, third party plugins, etc.?

It's crashing during saving: twice yesterday. Just got stuck at 83% and eventually times out. Also occasionally when I attempt to open a doc it will serve a message saying it ran into trouble and has to restart. That's been happening for several weeks. Don't judge: im not OS but windows 8.1 and before you go 'there' I use many Adobe programs in the suite without errors. It's dedicated to psd . I update things quite often so it's not really like a quick plugin I could isolate and check. But again no other user issue producing symptoms elsewhere... Isolated to photoshop.

Windows is your Operating System (OS).

Hanging/freezing is not even remotely the same thing as crashing.
What does the OS error at the end actually say?

Sorry Chris - it's late and been a very long week... I read OS and my mind went to Apple. Yes, my Operating System is Windows 8.1

And the software has been hanging = what I call ghosting, at times the action of the mouse within the photoshop software doesn't keep pace with where I am tracking; freezing = where it then will suddenly stop functioning and then eventually crashing = renders my entire system to stop functioning whereby it said it cannot recover and will attempt to restart.

I'm tempted to just uninstall photoshop and reinstall it, but though - what the heck - maybe someone here would have a helpful reply.

>> renders my entire system to stop functioning

If the entire system is affected and you have to restart the machine, then you're looking at an OS bug, a low level driver bug, or defective hardware. An application cannot cause that behavior to the entire system.

If just Photoshop is affected, then I'm not sure what is happening - that doesn't fit the description of other problems I've seen reported. But it is possible that a bad hard disk, server volume, or attached storage device (like a USB drive) could cause problems that hang the application.
