I have a big issue with photoshop on Mac freezing often, causing the loss of works and a lot of work hours, also the project's windows disappear sometimes but the layers are not, what makes me end up with quitting photoshop.
I always do the last update but I keep having the same issue again, Is this a common issue on photoshop?!

Howdy Mounir,

What you're describing is not common at all.  Please tell me more about your setup and workflow so we can get to the bottom of this.

Which Mac OS are you running on?  And you're running the very latest version of PS (look under Help > System Info -- that first line is 19.?.? ?

What kinds of things are you doing before your Photoshop freezes on you?  How many fonts do you have on your machine?  Are you using type?  Which type engine?

Let's start with these and figure out how to fix this for you.

Thanks,
David

Howdy Mounir,

Wha-wha-whaaat?  You've over 1500 fonts installed?  I am not surprised that Photoshop is hiccuping.  I would recommend between 300 to 500 or less, honestly.  Each one eats up system resources and adds to load time.

Have you checked the integrity of your font cache?  With that many fonts and adding them in and pulling them out, corruption is a real possibility.  Check out this link https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/troubleshoot-fonts-photoshop.html for how to check and clear BOTH your font caches.

Hope that helps,
David

No Wonder!
Thank a lot for your help, David!
I will start getting rid of unused fonts immediately, hopefully, that will solve the problem,
Mounir

Happy to help.  If you do continue to experience problems, please let me know.  And, I would STRONGLY suggest that you run the script to test the integrity of your Photoshop and OS font caches.

Have a good one,
David

Hi Mounir. I'm not seeing a membership under the email address you're using to post here. Is it under a different one?

Hmm. Nothing under that email address. If you're a Teams member, it might make sense to log in and work with an agent here: https://helpx.adobe.com/contact/support.html
