Photoshop CC Freezes when Editing Text

Photoshop CC will randomly freeze at some point while I'm working within a PSD file. When selecting/editing text, at some random point, it will just entirely hang up, and I'm forced to kill the app. This has been happening since February, and I've attempted troubleshooting with Adobe support on this issue. NOTHING HAS HELPED. This issue has happened to me almost EVERY SINGLE DAY, and I've lost hours and hours of work because of this. FIX THIS ADOBE!!!

Photoshop has become so unreliable that I have recovered recovered files, due to multiple crashes on the same day.

And I doubt that anyone at Adobe will see this, or care enough to try to really fix this problem. Nice to be paying for software that randomly freezes several times a day, only to be told to submit a bug within a discussion forum. I imagine I'll just have to deal with constant random app freezes.

I totally sympathize with you. I'll give the Adobe help desk credit for trying to help but the problems are written into the program and they can't fix them. My PS and LR are so bad I can hardly edit a wedding I'm working on. I think the latest crop of programmers must have been the most recent graduating class from Romper Room!
The fact that the person in charge of updates allowed them to be released on us like the plague ...is nothing short of criminal! That person deserves to be fired! No excuse for doing this to loyal subscribers who rely on these programs to make their living.

Hey Jay,

If you're encountering problems, feel free to post them here -- in their own thread -- and someone will surely follow up.  I'd volunteer, but LR isn't what I work with.

Thanks,
David

Thanks David, Will do. I was just looking to see others were having similar problems and added my frustrated comment to this thread. Tech Support seems to be throwing their hands in the air for the past several weeks so I can only imagine all the issues are swamping them too. To me the manager of the development team is totally at fault for allowing updates to be released without solid testing. To make a paying customer base find and report the problems is downright criminal IMHO.

Howdy Andrew,

Have you checked the integrity of your system font cache and your Photoshop font cache?  Adding new fonts, particularly "free fonts" (you get the quality you pay for) can often corrupt these and if either is messed up, they'll transmit that to the other one.  Steps are here: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/troubleshoot-fonts-photoshop.html   Also, how many fonts do you have on this machine?  What are you using for font management?  What OS are you working on?

Thanks,
David
