Photoshop CC 2020 freezing after latest update

After updating Photoshop CC2020 to newest version, as of March 2, 2020 I have had several freezes and must force quit. Downgraded to 21.0.3 and it got worse. Lost prefs and launched to a blank dialog for opening new files. Photoshop is now not usable. Update: totally uninstalled, re-installed 21.0.3 and now seems to work.

Hi Barry,

What OS are you on?  Have you checked the integrity of your font cache?  It's not uncommon for them to become corrupted during updates (OSes, apps, fonts, all sorts of things).  You can find the steps here: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/troubleshoot-fonts-photoshop.html

Thanks,
David

Mac OS 13.6, Mac Pro late 2013, 16GB ram. Uninstalled then reinstalled to 21.0.3. Runs fine now. Ran Font Book validation and removed one possible bad font. Now will update to 21.1.

I've had to revert to 21.0.3 to prevent the beachball death (Catalina). Haven't checked font cache yet, too much to try. Barry, can you confirm?

Please let us know if you do find an issue in the font cache, either system or Photoshop's.
Thanks,David

I haven't had time to troubleshoot, crunch time right now. I can say that I haven't had the deathball since i reverted back. CC desktop app isn't letting me dual install both versions so I can't verify.

21.1.1 seems to have fixed the deathball issue. Haven't occurred all day.

David, can not remember which one it was but it showed up as a problem when I ran verification of all fonts in Font Book. Also, deleted Font cache.
