Photoshop CC 2020 (21.0+) is not compatible with the new input method adopted by Windows 10 2004 and keeps freezing

I upgraded to Windows 10 2004, the system provides a new input method for Chinese, the new input method uses Fluent Design System, but unfortunately Photoshop is not compatible with it. I am using "Microsoft Chinese Input Method"

Generally speaking, a freeze can occur within a dozen minutes, no operation can be performed, the content will not be saved, and the Photoshop process has to be ended with the task manager. When restarting the PS, there is a certain chance to resume some work, but it is of little help.

If you need to reproduce the problem, just open a slightly larger file or dozens of small files, then press V to start the mobile tool, press Ctrl and press the left mouse button to select the layer, or press in the layer panel Press the Alt key to switch to the mask. In my experience, it seems that the problem is easy to appear when the function key is pressed.

I encountered dozens of freezes in the morning, and I almost collapsed. I couldn’t do any work, and I had to keep pressing Ctrl+S.

I found a way to solve this problem on the Internet, and turned off the new version of the input method in the Windows settings (using the old version of the input method). I haven't encountered it so far, I will continue to follow up.

Oh god, thank you for this post. I'm using Photoshop CC 2019 and Japanese IME (not Chinese but the new IME interface seems to be the same for all East Asian languages) and faced the same problem, and switching back to the old IME interface seems to have fixed the problem.

I like the new IME so I'm hoping Adobe can do something about this since a program shouldn't be taking IME inputs even if a text box isn't selected.
