Photoshop CC 2019: Marquee tool precision adjusted?

Hi all,

I create recreate digital floorplans at work and took a stab at upgrading to CC 2019 and I noticed that for some reason when working at a pixel level (using a 5x5 subdivision grid) there seemed to be a minor difference in my ability to select pixels using the marquee tool on the grid between 2018 and 2019.

In the image below I've marked the corner where I would usually highlight from to select a 5x5 pixel square in 2018 on the left and the result when using the same area on 2019 on the right.

Has anyone else noticed a change in the precision of the rectangular marquee tool? Was there a rework of the precision in 2019 or is it a matter of adjusting muscle memory to highlight a little more inside rather than on the corner?

Cheers,
Minh

Wow, what a coincidence. Yesterday I also worked on 5x5 squre and noticed how precisely I can make marquee selection in contrary to CS6 EXTENDED, however I don't remember how that was in CC 2018!

It performs as same as 2018 for me. Clicking 0.1px outside the desired selection border produces the same selection (like it showed on right in your image) both in 2018 and 2019. Is the zoom level at 12800%?
