Photoshop CC 2018: View jumps around canvas

While using the latest Photoshop release I've come across a very irritating bug which changes the position of my 'view' of the canvas when I select an element using Cmd + Click.

I'm trying to work with my current artboard centered in my screen but when I select a layer using command + click the view jumps about 500px to the left so my artboard is no longer centered in my screen. I have tried changing the zoom level but the bug still occurs regardless.

There is one easy fix - downgrade. I did ;-)
2018 - versions are, in my experience,  not yet bug-free

The fix for now is to activate the Application Frame and use Open Docs as Tabs pref.
