Hi,

I have a new install of Photoshop CC 2018 and no old preferences or shortcut file that I can import. Please this is really annoying what can I do? Why does a clean install not have keyboard shortcuts?
FYI the install is with Creative Cloud.

First, everything that is supposed to be in the dialog is in the dialog. When you click on one of the save buttons (by the trashcan) you'll be able to save the set. Nothing is permanently saved unless you deliberately save the file with your own name. The active set will get modified (Modified will show up in the name), but you have to click on the middle button to save your custom kbsc initially to the hard drive.

Only if you save a custom kbsc to the hard drive will you be able to locate and copy it into your "clean" version of PS. Unfortunately, the drop down list doesn't have a "Load. . . " feature, so you do have to find the kbsc yourself outside of Photoshop  with a clean install. If you copy a file into that folder while PS is closed, it will show up after you again launch PS.

Keyboard shortcus are saved in your User Library in the Presets folder. It may be that you did save at some point in this version or another, and you can go looking there to see if there are any for you to copy to your current Presets> Keyboard Shortcuts folder.

Hi Cristen,

Thank you for clarifying this, but it didn't solve my original problem. This is a clean install and the software doesn't react to any keyboard shortcut. I am now working using the menu. That is very frustrating. >(

Is there anything about your setup that mixes different languages and keyboard language, etc?

Ok. I removed the keyboard in Windows and add a new one. Strange that it caused this issue, but it works. Thanks a million!!
