Photoshop CC 19.1.2: Files opened as Smart Objects do not show up as recently opened files

Photoshop CC 2018 (19.1.1) for a change opened 2 raw files as Smart Objects, but they do not show up in recent items menu, nor do they show up (after closing them) in file browser. I posed in Adobe forums, and was told this is a problem observed by other users, and to post here.

Also, after opening a few images as Smart Objects, I then went back in raw window to re-edit the raw conversions, saving several settings in snapshots tab as I went, yet when I went back later, all my saved settings were gone! I usually don't open files as SO, and Photoshop always saved my snapshots with no problem, so I don’t know if this is another issue, or just how this version works- not saving saved snapshots when working with Smart Objects. I would think if it lets you save your settings, they really should be saved...

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled 19.1.2 Open Recient incorrect list.

Photoshop 19.1.2 does not add File open through ACR as a Smart Object Layer to the Open Recent List  Prior Photoshop version of Photoshop like CC 2014 using the same version of ACR do.

Apparently a new version, 19.1.2 was just released, but looking at links, I am hesitant to update 19.1.1 in case it makes matters worse...

Just to clarify, I am not concerned with any steps or layers in open files- I want closed raw files to be able to be reopened using saves snapshots from ACR as they would normally be saved.

Do you have a link to the original thread on the forum? I'm definitely seeing that Open as Smart Object doesn't populate the File > Recent... menu nor the Start Screen's Recent Items list.

19.1.1 still not behaving as expected. Sometimes when I launch it, it shows recent files browser, other times it does not. In both situations, it is showing recent files under  Files>Open Recent menu.
