- Photoshop CC 2017
- Windows 7
- User access only
I am using PS on a corporate machine where getting admin level access is tricky to reconfigure folder access.
Here is the issue: I have installed Photoshop CC 2017. I have been using CC 2015 and everything worked fine. In PS 2017 when I use File>> New document, PS hangs and I have to force close it. BUT when I run PS using Privilege Guard which lets me bypass the user level access temporarily (a third party solution to allow admin privilege for installations), File>> New Document works fine.
I spent a couple of hours with chat support and they told me I had to enable Read/Write access to a particular folder ( I forget which one). To do so would mean I have to have admin level access to my Windows 7 system to fix the issue permanently. Otherwise I have to always launch PS 2017 with Privilege Guard in order to use the New Document function.
My question to Adobe is: The New Document screen is one of the features new to the CC 2017 release. Why did CC 2015 set up the folders New Document uses correctly at the time of installation but CC 2017 does not? This looks like a bug/oversight in the latest release and I hope it is fixed soon. I am usign CC 2015 for the moment.
