Photoshop CC 2017: Free memory Bug

I updated recently to Photoshop cc 2017 and I've noticed that under system info, the free memory is way smaller than the one in Photoshop cc 2015.5

Adobe Photoshop Version: 2017.0.0 20161012.r.53 2016/10/12:23:00:00 CL 1094006  x64

Built-in memory: 16340 MB
Free memory: 8874 MB
Memory available to Photoshop: 14504 MB

as you see the free memory is 8874 MB and I'm not even opening any other program but in Photoshop cc 2015.5 it's the right number:
-------------------------------------------------------

Adobe Photoshop Version: 2015.5.1 20160722.r.156 2016/07/22:23:00:00 CL 1083377  x64

Built-in memory: 16340 MB
Free memory: 14063 MB
Memory available to Photoshop: 14509 MB

as you see here the free memory number is correct not like in cc 2017

so is that a bug or something, I'm afraid that I couldn't do a big projects in 2017 version because of this small free ram number.

I don't know. Maybe an Adobe official will reply to your question.

I have noticed my system is getting really weighed down by it too. 3 gbs of memory is being used for two files, each < (1200x800px) images. Single layer on one, three on the other.

But I have this small free memory number even before I open any document, and the program itself just took 400 mb ram.

I really was hoping for an official response as I pay $49.99 every month so at least I need an answer to my simple question:

Why is the free memory in Photoshop cc2017 "system info" way smaller than the other versions?

BTW, what OS are you running? Not sure that comes into play here but wanted to ask. I'm seeing a similar split on two OSX versions, but it holds going back to Ps 17.0.1 (2015.5) and 16.1.2 (2015).
