Several of my co-workers and I have noticed that the text tool and any type of type rendering on Photoshop CC 2017 has been very very slow. We all have the most recent Photoshop update (2017.0.01) and we are all using Mac Mini's with both OS X El Capitan and macOS Sierra operating systems.

Howdy Nicole,

Are you mostly using TT fonts or OT fonts?  Does it happen with all documents or only certain ones?  All fonts?

Thanks,
David

Hey David!

I would say it's a pretty equal balance between TTF and OTF. It happens on all documents, and all fonts, but it does generally get worse with larger paragraphs of text.

Thanks!

Howdy Nicole,What you are describing sounds like a known bug that will be fixed in the next release. It is an issue with TT fonts and is most noticeable with large runs of text. I am concerned that you say you're seeing this with OT fonts, as those should not have this issue. Could you name some of the OT fonts with this problem -- I want to make sure the fix completely solves this problem. The fix should be out very soon,Thanks,David

You know what I think dear Nicole, I think that Adobe's softwares are most of them becoming a bit too obsolete, in a way, sorry guys to tell you this as diredtly as that honestly, the reason behind it is that when rebuilding your siftwares you still haven't cleaned up really the old hierarchical menus purely of the old suite in a way to become really innovative, nit by just adding new things and adapting, but unlike Affinity softwares that are becoming lot mire famous by their simplistic approach and honest deal with their client regarding the following options inside: 1-the main menu between photography retouching and mainly raster has become unified in one full app withonly the usage of non destructive instruments, inside one app : affinity photo, made already the app too sweet delightfully uncomplicated with their adaptation of your old complex environment inside photoshop and lightroom., mainly for Photoshop and the rest is becoming history. Seriously, Adobe you are BREAKING MY HEART, I am really crying for those years that I have been a longterm LOVER of your Suites. DOMMAGE you still have those irrevocably small MAJOR problems not dealt with overtime, and recurring errors that you have been tackling over and over again without any full solution and final resolution of those conflicts. Maybe it is time to move on. (I am really feeling now awful) am in my bed crying. Sorry but that is really , realy unfair , you are a bunch of dear guys to me., and my favorite. I would never like to leave my home with you. I hope you finally wake up and do something about it. please.

Same problem here but on Win10. Selecting, editing or pasting larger amount of text is really slow
