I've updated today morning to 2015 and have absolutely the same issue. In my case it does freeze a minute later since I start using the selection tool. It was impossible to work. I've sent a couple of crash reports, hopefully the amazing adobe team will fix it as soon as possible. Love the new features, but also need my tasks done.. Help please!

OSX 10.10.3, iMac (27', 2,9 GHz Intel Core i5, Late 2012), NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M 512 MB

Howdy Balazs and Angel,

Are you running across a network by chance?  Either the application or one of the files you have open?  What email add are you running (at the same time)?  How much free HDD space do you have, particularly on your scratch drives?  And, finally, how many fonts do you have on your machine?  Are any third party and/or Arabic/Indic fonts?  Which text engine are you running?

Could be many things -- this info will help close off many of them...

Thanks,
David

Hi David,

I'm using Photoshop for more than 12 years now.. I really tried my best before posting it here. It's a simple fact: I didn't change anything in my network/system setup. Previously CC 2014 worked like a charm..
I tried with and without any network. I'm working on my local drive, the file size is just 12MB.. again, it's the same project I've been working on using the previous CC 2014 version with no problems.

Cheers,
Angel

Hiya Angel,

Would you be interested in doing a screenshare?  I'd like to figure out what's going on and get to the bottom of this problem for you.  I'll follow up with an email.

Thanks,
David

Thanks David, I think I identified the problem.. If, for some reason, Creative Cloud app is not able to verify my account (which is really often) my graphic card driver acceleration gets disabled. Then Photoshop just becomes really slow .. The thing is that I'm always connected to the internet.. Just wonder why CC is not able to verify my account..?

I am having the same issue it freezes every time I try to do something.

I am on a Mac Trash Can, 2.7 GHz 12-Core Intel Xeon E5 with 32GB Ram and running OS X 10.9.5.

I was happy with CC but thought I'd try CC (2015) because some of the new feature would improve my design workflow. I hope they fix this soon.

Has anyone been able to solve the problem?

I just updated from CC 2014 to 2015 today. So far I am able to work with a file fine, make changes, and save my progress. The issue occurs when I close the file. I click the x to close a file and the entire software stops working. Pop up states "Adobe Photoshop CC 2015 has stopped working", then it closes down. This happens if I have one file or multiple files open. I am running Windows 7, had no issues with CC 2014 as of this morning; trouble started this afternoon when I upgraded to CC 2015.

Should I reinstall CC 2014? Or is there a fix for this issue?

I have the same issue, Photoshop ran perfectly, I'm on a 15" Macbook Pro Mid 2014, I updated to new Photoshop cc 2015 and I cannot open the program anymore it just stops responding. I tried deleting all my settings, un-installing it, re-installing it, and nothings working. I need this program to run to do my job, I am a freelancer loosing valuable time.

I just reverted back to PS CC 2014 as PS CC 2015 keeps saying (not responding) on launch. It takes about 3 times before it fully launches, then freezes a bit and then finally runs. If I quit the program for any reason, it'll go through the same thing over again. It just keeps saying it's not responding so I force-quit it. Similar issues with Illustrator CC 2015 and have uninstalled that as well. Hopefully this will get resolved sometime soon.

Well... Same thing here.
Just updated to CC 2015 this Monday and Photoshop is constantly beachballing on me. I wonder what happened in this latest release that really messed things up?

I had to revert to CC 2014 to be able to get anything done in Photoshop.

I am not getting the same issues in Indesign or Illustrator 2015 though. This is only a Photoshop issue for me.

Guys , please try disabling GPU acceleration in Preferences.
As I believe it's problem with certain GPUs.
And lets hope for a quick fix form Adobe.
And please give your respond if it works.

I tried disabling GPU. Restarting. Unfortunately no luck.
Same sluggy performance and a weird rendering bug with the selection tool as well.

I will leave PS CC 2015 for now and continue working in PS CC 2014.

Hey folks,

I'd like to try and track this down.  I've no idea the cause.  Any info you can offer would be helpful.  And if you're up to do a web-hosted screenshare to clearly demo the problem, that'd be awesome.  Just ping me back and I'll send an email.

Thanks,
David

I'm having some of the same issues on a PC. PhotoShop running slow, lagging behind in rendering actions, weirdness with the selection tool (see attached image), and layers dragged from one open file to another not rendering into the "drop" file until you select the file's frame and actually move it onscreen. Even crashing without warning.

I was running PhotoShop CC 2014 until yesterday morning and experiencing none of these problems. They all began as soon as I upgraded to PhotoShop CC 2015.

Perhaps you missed the first sentence: "I'm having some of the same issues on a PC." The very same problems are showing in both the Mac and PC universes. Put your Mac attitude back on the shelf.

While the selection drawing issue with the GPU off, and the rulers slowdown are similar across platforms - this topic is about an issue on MacOS and we are trying to get information specific to MacOS from the people affected. If you are experiencing sorta-similar symptoms on Windows, please find an appropriate topic for Windows, or create a new topic for Windows.

Just encountered this problem last night. It seems to freeze up on the loading screen. Like clockwork, the program gets the "not responding" note while loading brushes.
On a MacBook Air from 2 years ago.

So that's a different problem than is being discussed in this topic.
Most likely you have a lot of presets, or a shortcut from your presets folder to somewhere with a lot of files to be scanned. And you may have a large amount of brushes loaded in your preferences (check the preferences folder for Photoshop and see how large the brushes file is).

But Creative Cloud app crashing every hour.
It doesn't affect work to much, but popping adobe report window is annoying.
LR still terrible. Time to time have to restart LR, because of disappearing cursor, or some other random bugs.
All last updates are terrible. I don't remember Adobe so buggy as now.
Even Betas where more stable, than final realises now.
I'm still on OS X 10.10.

This is a great conversation that's separate from the main one, so I created a new conversation to continue the discussion.
