Photoshop CC 2015 installation made associating PS as default program for opening image files impossible.

Nvidia GTX 980

After updating from Photoshop CC 2014 to 2015, I was no longer able to associate Photoshop with image files. This included manually setting the Photoshop .exe in the "Default Programs" list. The problem was that this this setting would never stick.

After reviewing this forum page here:
https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1238079

It turned out the problem was with the registry. It hadn't updated from it's original key which pointed to Photoshop CC 2014 (a program that was no longer installed). After manually editing the registry to point towards the correct folder, all was well.

I came here to file a bug report, but this is the best I could find. Where can I file proper bug reports, or is this it?

You just did. But there are already other topics about this issue.

Thanks for letting me know, Chris.

My understanding of bug reporting is that it's helpful to get a wide range of systems with the bugs are occurring or is this not the case?

I thought it would be better to file bugs properly rather than simply complain on forums.

Generally it would be, but in this case I think we know what went wrong in the installer/updater and will fix it with the next major release.
