Photoshop CC 2015: Autorecover file(s) not created/updated when editing Smart Object

When editing the contents of a Smart Object (embedded or linked) within PS CC2015 the autorecover file (eg. "Filename97ES598EAF75977DB508THHJI.psb") written to the "Autorecover" folder is never updated.

If editing the contents of an embedded Smart Object a temporary copy of the object is written as a .psb file into the system %TEMP% folder when you begin editing the object but again, this is NOT updated until you hit Save within that window or close and save the object to go back to editing the main file.

For linked smart objects, the linked .psb file is not updated until you hit Save or close and exit (as would be expected).

However, in NEITHER case is the recovery file in the Autorecover folder updated (or a new one created as I would have expected) until AFTER the object has been saved!

This means that while editing a Smart Object, unless you keep hitting Save every few minutes, there is effectively NO autosave feature in operation.

Surely, when editing a Smart Object, an additional recovery file for the object being edited should be created in the Autorecover folder and updated at the frequency specified in the settings dialog?

4 months and nobody replies?

Maybe it's been quietly fixed in the background... but I doubt it and I'm not going to take the risk of 'upgrading' to the latest version to find out
