Photoshop CC 2014: Script Performance Issues

I'm using a script that does the following:

1) input is two animated 64x64 Pixel PSD file, filled with 8 animation frames and lots of layers in a specific layer group structure
2) it mirrors (horizontaly) and rotates (90°) both files and creates two new temporary files
3) it creates a new file and fills it with the content from each frame of each of the 4 files (the orignal ones and temporarily flipped files) by copying the merged output visible in each frame into the new file into a 64x64 grid

This process is used to create spritesheets for a pixel art game.

In Photoshop CC 2014 (2014.2.2 20141204.r.310), this script takes 1 minute with the test file I used.
In Photoshop CC (14.2.1 20140207.r.570), the exact same script takes 35 seconds with the test file.

It's very obvious that CC 2014 takes very long to mirror and rotate the canvas in step 2), since a progress bar is visible for a long time. But also copying of content between the files in step 3) takes a lot longer than in CC. I'm on a 64bit Windows 7 machine if it makes any difference.
