Photoshop CC 2014.2.1: Error on launch Could not initialize Photoshop because of a program error

Photoshop CC 2014.2.1 crashes on the next open after quitting if the application frame is disabled on Mac 10.9.5. Error received is "Could not initialize Photoshop because of a program error." No error report option is given. If I trash preferences, I can relaunch, but as soon as I turn off application frame and restart, the same error is received. Resetting the preferences seems to work because it kicks CC back into the application frame. The program will run fine out of the application frame, but once you quit it won't restart.

We think we tracked down the root of this issue in order to provide a fix. In the meantime, you can work around the issue by disabling "Automatic Graphic Switching" in the Energy Saver system preferences.
