Photoshop CC 20.0.2 Stop running completely suddenly

I'm working normally on Photoshop, wearing Actions, Brush, Layers and etc and, suddenly when I try to wear Fill or try to rename some layer or any other function I receive a very annoying error that don't explain nothing. The only solution is close everything and reboot the entire system.

My OS is Windows 10 Pro 1803 and my PS is on the last version (20.0.2)

Howdy Fernando,

How much scratch disk do you have left?  Other documents open?  Other apps open?  It could very well be that your system is running out of resources and then misbehaving.

If not, let me know and we can look for other causes...

Thanks,
David

Howdy David,

I have 3 HD's on my PC, they both have at least 50% of empty space. The disk that I setup to be PS cache's have 600Gb free.
With the exception of Lightroom, no others documents or apps running simultaneously.
I already use this PC for a while and the problems started to happen only after the update for the last version.
In the early evening (here in Sao Paulo/BR) I send a screenshot showing how the computer resources are during the execution of photoshop.

Boa noite, Fernando,

Okay, based on that info, you're not overwhelming your system.  Odd...  Have you gotten this problem once or several times?

I'll be honest; this is unusual.  I actively monitor the forums, but this is the first I've heard of such a problem.  Further, I'm on Photoshop all day, every day, both for work and cuz I'm a nut about my kids' pictures.  And I haven't seen anything like this either.  Could there be something unusual in your setup?  Have you added any hardware recently (that might not be playing nicely)?  What were you doing in Lightroom at the time Photoshop became unresponsive?

Sao Paulo is five hours ahead of California right now, correct?  If you'd like, this evening (for you) / this afternoon (for me), we could do a web-hosted screenshare to help troubleshoot the problem if you'd like.  Just let me know and I can email you the details.

Obrigado,
David

Hello,

No, the system rolls normally. Those problems started yesterday, but after the update to 20.0.2 it was the first time that I used him.

I searched on the internet about this problem and don't found out anyone with this same problem. I don't believe that can be caused for something unusual in me system because I don't had changed nothing in the last months.

The strangest thing is that Photoshop does not hang, it just does not perform certain actions. I can, for example, save the file and close it.

I basically only work with Lightroom, I do the adjustaments on Lightroom and just send the photo to Photoshop (right click on thumb, Edit in -> Adobe Photoshop) to use Fill, Healing Brush and some plugins like Topaz or Nik Collection.

Right now, in Sao Paulo we are on Summer Time so is 6 hours ahead of California. I think a good idea do a web-hosted screenshare. But I just can do this after 8:00 PM (2:00 PM in California), at that time would you have availability?

Best regards,
Fernando Nanzer

Edit 1: Prints included (The first error happened, again, when I tried to rename the layer and the second, when I tried to crop the image)

Olá Fernando,

I shot you an email.  I'm around this afternoon if you're free.

I have heard reports of incompatibilities with Topaz.  You might want to try with that plugin disabled, so we can try and narrow down the cause.

Thanks,
David
