Photoshop CC 18: Crashes using NIK Filters

I'm having trouble with my NIK filters, mainly the Silver Efx Pro2 black and white app. They had been working just fine for over a year. I recently installed the High Sierra OS on my Mac. I've reinstalled the NIK filters just to be sure I'm ok with installation there.

I open NIK through my Photoshop CC 2018 and everything works fine until I click on OK to return to Photoshop. The image shows that it is processing and attempting to save the file and size it back on my layers stack...and then the whole thing crashes and closes out Photoshop. I'm left with the file not saved and I have to restart Photoshop again - without the NIK layer saved.

***I have learned that I can actually get Photoshop to successfully use the NIK filters by File>Automate>Nik Collection Selective Tool. That works but its a pain in the butt.  Is there a fix planned to be able to use the dropdown Filter menu again?

Here's a workaround for old Google Nik plug-ins: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/nik-plugin-crash.html

Please note: DXO has purchased Nik collection from Google. They have updated their plug-ins: https://nikcollection.dxo.com Contact them for more info.
