Photoshop bad gradation when using OpenGL for display

When i use the Graphics processor there seems to be some kind of posterization / bad gradation between tones, also neutral images don't look neutral - this only happens when using ProPhoto color space, images look fine when using sRGB.

The problem is visual only, and doesn't save with the images.

This is how an image looks like with the graphics processor turned ON:
