Photoshop - Autosave not working (work lost)

I have Autosave checked and set to 10 minutes in preferences. When I closed Photoshop CC 2015 I clicked the Save buttons. Master files are stored in Creative Cloud. No final save was made - no work found in the Library 'autosave' folder (0 items) on the Mac. Opening the file in Creative Cloud only shows a previous version - 4 hours work is missing.

The autorecovery file would only be there if Photoshop crashed. If Photoshop exits normally, then the files are deleted, because you have had an opportunity to save you files.

It sounds like you may have saved to the wrong location accidentally, and need to find the files you saved to the wrong location.

Spotlight only finds the earlier version stored on Creative Cloud. In future I will only store working files locally - and verify the time stamp before closing things down (this isn't the first time I have had versioning/syncing problems with CC storage).
