Photoshop: Actions are not saved in the action set until the user quits the application

If you create a new Action in the Actions window and then quit the application, when you reopen Photoshop the action is still there and ready for use. However, if you create a new Action in the Actions window and Photoshop quits unexpectedly, the action will disappear from the action set after the application is relaunched. This is frustrating, because the action has to be rebuilt from scratch.

Photoshop should save actions immediately after they are created, instead of when the user quits the application.

Yes, like most applications, large preferences are only saved when you exit the application.

Two things:

1) we should figure out why you're seeing crashes
2) I would also recommend saving your actions separately from your preferences by selecting "Save Actions" from the Actions panel flyout. This is also a better way to archive and back up your actions for safe keeping.
