Photoshop 21.1 (mac): could not open "filename"because of a disk error

I'm constantly (8 out of 10 times) getting error: Could not open "filename" because of a disk error, while trying to open file from a network storage. I'm on iMac Pro under MacOS Catalina

Photoshop 20.0.7 opens these files without any problem.

This doesn't allow me to normally use latest photoshop

Why I'm paying for it, but it doesn't allow me to use it?

It's Synology NAS and I'm connecting to it using AFP file service. I also tried to connect over SMB  (with SMB v3 enabled) - same result

And I noticed that I get this error when trying to open RAW files in photoshop, so it opens Camera Raw first to apply settings to be able to open in photoshop then. So it gives me this error almost every time I open new files, then I have to click "Cancel" and try to open again, and after 3-4 times of this process it may successfully open the file
