Photoshop 21.1.0: Problems with brush tool and the quick selection tool

I'm having a couple of issues after updating yesterday, the quick selection tool just jumps all over the place and doesn't select properly like I expect, forcing me to use other means of selection. Not that I can't work it out, but the quick selection was much more efficient when it worked. Two, my brush is not working correctly. When brushing on a mask (it may do this in other places, but it is a mask that I am typically using it on) it is not giving me 100% opacity, leaving a ghost image that I can only remove by using delete. The other thing it is doing is creating a stroke between the last place I left off and where I am trying to start a new stroke. I have turned off the  smoothing (which I have found to have issues in the past) and checked all my brush settings. I don't see anything that would cause this issue. I will probably roll by my PS version because I don't really have time to try and trouble shoot any of this, but wanted you all to be aware.

I'm using a Windows machine with a roller ball mouse (no tablet on this particular machine)

not sure about the quick select and straight line issue, but the masking problem might be your brush settings or not having pure black/white loaded.

Having the same problem with the selection tool as Cyndi above, it's selecting parts of the photo that I don't want and when I use the -brush to take this area, it gets selected straight away after I used the +brush for a different area! Going to just shut it all down and try again later........ really hate these little bugs after an update! Very frustrating.

Same issue here with Windows 10 (1909), Photoshop 21.1.0, and Wacom tablet. Affects several tools, including Spot Healing, Patch tool, etc.
