I'm still unable to use v21 after this 21.0.3 release.
Actually, I got a brand new Dell XPS workstation this month with SSD, 16 GB ram and a very tidy nVidia RTX 2060 GPU. PS 21.0.3 is unusable. The lag is appauling.
Just as it was on my old PC, v20 flies along and I can be very productive, but v21 is so laggy there's no way I can use it commercially.
On Windows 10 I can see GPU utilisation and a simple layer transform in v21 sends the GPU to 100% with terrible, laggy redraw experience on screen. Even moving a simple layer, PS v21 will never redraw the layer I'm moving until I stop!
In v20 the GPU is under 20% utilisation and redraw is fine.
Both versions have matching Performance, RAM, Scratch Disk and 3D settings.

Okay PC users (and Adobe), I've tried out the newer 21.1 install on Windows 10 Pro, 64-bit. It seems to be a viable product once more. After having significant performance issues on this 20.0.3 and other 20.0.x versions and abandoning it completely. This does, at least initially, seem to have solved the redraw issues I was having when undertaking simple tasks like panning (scrolling) around a large canvas, scaling and moving basic objects. My GPU no longer rockets to 100% utilisation when doing these basic tasks.
Thanks for fixing... whatever it was that you fixed.

I lost some, only some of my preferences after updating to 21.03. It was the Interface under Presentation. All my settings were reset to default.
Just curious if this happened to anyone else?

Still having the issue exporting U3D files. If I import that file in a 3D PDF, you lose the color information on the mesh.

I can save fine on my Synology NAS, I'm using AFP protocol to connect on an iMac running Mojave 10.14.6.

If you're sharing with AFP try switching to SMB (you have to disable AFP, if you have them both enabled it won't make any difference).

If that doesn't do the trick try checking the file permissions on the drive, or ignoring ownership of the shared drive altogether.  If you're using a version of MacOS older than Mojave you can also get more aggressive using the Server app and edit your ACL's (Access Control Lists) which fixes permissions more thoroughly.

I've had to do all of this in the past in order to be able to save to networked drives, but the issue seems to return a lot (assuming this has to do with OS updates more than anything).

You could as a last resort just save to a local drive and then set an automatic backup in an application like ChronoSync to copy all new files on the local drive to a specific location on your network drive.  I have numerous local drives get backed up automatically every day at midnight to their respective mirror drives on my server.

Hope any of this helps, good luck!

21.0.3 update crashes Photoshop as soon as I try to open the Print dialog (File > Print for files on a network drive; I don't even get the Print dialog or any kind of error message -- Photoshop simply disappears from the screen). Reverting to 21.0.2 fixed the problem but trashed my all my preferences, actions and presets. Had to restore from Windows 10 Backup. Super annoying and made me miss a project deadline.

a problem with the brush. During painting, the brush gets stuck and inaccessible for some time, after which it quickly repeats all my actions. It’s impossible to work. I still cannot use version 21 since its release.
