my most updated version of photoshop keeps on crashing while I work and for the moment even if I am saving brushes , as it recovers all is erased. Plus this morning I woke up to find out that all my custom made brushes where gone!! I saved them two weeks ago but since then made some more brushes and didn't yet save them to my computer and now those are all lost. So irritating. Did this happen to other people recently? I wonder if those crushes are related to the brushes that got errased(certainly not by me!!)

I am sorry to read about the loss of your brushes. When I discovered that I could make my own brushes, man o man. . . . just to be clear, you lose them 'for good', even after saving them, even in a group? If so, then I'm stuck and these smart people may have an answer.

I lose my brushes too after PS closes. What I do is once I have created a few new brush or brush groups I'll save them is a couple of places. I have also an action to retrieve brush group (from where ever) and run the action(s) to get them back. I have even created a macro to run several actions to get the brushes I want, not all, but most.

To be honest, I do not expect Adobe to fix the our issue, but having the action, takes no time at all in getting back what I want.

Good Luck!

Regarding what you (Michael H) wrote about crashing: I think that the root cause of losing those brushes is the unexpected shut down by crashing, so it would be useful to have more information about your computer including specs, and the OS in use and other running software... That way someone reading this would be able to make a diagnosis for you.

I see you submitted a crash report. I'll need an engineer to look at it. So far you're the only one hitting this crash path - so it might be a system specific issue.
