In Photoshop 2020 alt delete to fill a layer keeps deleting my layer and the problem is getting progressively worse. I have tried reinstalling preference to no avail. Help!

Hi, what if you use backspace? does it not work, too?
I'm not on your version but never used the delete key, always backspace.

This is really weird. It works for me as usual. I'm on OSX 10.15.6 Catalina on a MacPro2019 with Photoshop 21.2.0 I'm sorry I can't help you, too bad. What is your system? windows/Mac, Version, Graphics...

When starting Photoshop, hold down the Alt + Ctrl + Shift key (Windows) or the Option + Command + Shift key (Mac OS)But I guess you've already tried it, right? What about the other "alt" Option key on your keyboard. right side one. Maybe your key does not work properly? i had some crumbs in the keyboard and another time the keyboard was broken :-) So if you have another keyboard at hand, I would test this one if it does not work, also.
