Photoshop CC2019: Images opening in the wrong order

Problem-Bug: After updating to Photoshop 2019 (20.0.0) - Images now group importing in the wrong order. Out of order. Slightly mixed up.

1. Either displayed in backwards list order of the file names
2. Or displayed where the first imported image becomes the last image on the display order.

In my daily work flow I import into Photoshop groups of images/screenshots. They used to come in and display in photoshop in the correct order they were taken or captured in.

For example if you have four images, 001,002, 003, 004 and you group import them into the past versions of Photoshop they would appear on the screen from left to right in the following order. 004, 003, 002, 001 order. The 001 (farthest right) image would be the image with the active tab. Basically allowing you to start working on the first image. If you closed that tab the next active tab would be 002.

Photoshop 2019 is importing the images in this order, 001, 004, 003, 002. The active tabbed image would be 002.

Or in this order 001, 002, 003, 004. The active tabbed image would be 004 (the last image). Backwards.

Many times when importing into photoshop the first image moves to the end of the list order. The highlighted active tabbed image is always the second image from the import list Or they all are completed backwards in list order.

The images need to stay in order since I capture two images in a row that need to be merged together into one file. Basically taking two images and photoshopping them together. The images look a lot like each other and I have to keep them separated and in order to not mess up the work flow.

This wasn't a problem in past PS versions. Started after I updated to version 20.0.0

For me, multiple file openings are always in the alphabetical order of file names, but maybe if the order is different in the finder, the opening will be in another order. I can not test on Windows.

Yves, thanks for letting me know it display the correct order for you in PS 20.0. Do the images display 001, 002, 003, 004 or do they display 004, 003, 002, 001 (with the highlight tab being the far most right tab)?

Maybe some other users can test it out. Open batches of images and see if they import in the correct order in PS 2019. I would also like to know which order they appear from left to right.

I should mention that I always open my group batch files from the PS "open" menu and do not drag and drop them onto the application. The files in Finder are always in the correct order based on time creation and alpha order. I have had this work flow for 3 years and the problem only appeared once I updated to PS 20.0

the images are in the right order, but I can not test since el finder, since these are RAWs that will open in CameraRaw before appearing in PS! Hence the opening since LR.

I compared CS6 vs 2019, and the open in the same order. It is dependent on how I have the list view sorted in the Open dialog on Mojave.
