Come on, guys! The new Cmd+N dialog window is just awful. It is unnecessarily heavy and takes ages to load. It really makes life worse and slows me down even on a fast Core i7 machine.

It is a very obvious thing. Please give me the old quick and simple interface and don't change things for the very sake of changes.

Change it back to normal here:
Preferences > General > Use Legacy "New Document" Interface

But how long will they let us keep using the legacy window? I don't want it yanked out from under me if they're not going to fix this monstrosity. It takes forever to load, and interrupts my workflow since I can't "Ctrl+N+Enter" to quickly create a new file with the clipboard or last file's dimensions.

There are no plans to remove the legacy dialog. Sounds like you're on windows. How long is the new dialog taking to load?

Hi Jeffrey, I'm on Mac, and the new dialogs are quite slow and disruptive for me too. Also agree with Anna on monstrosity.
We use keyboard shortcuts to be quick and efficient. But the new heavy and over-cluttered dialogs are completely opposite of speed and efficiency. This fact turns them into the obstacle.

New dialogues take upwards of 5 - 10 minutes to load for me to start up a new file. The suggestion above to use the old dialogue is literally the only thing preventing me from throwing my keyboard into my screen and raging out over how garbage the new interface is. Did Adobe get a highschooler to program that crap?

I totally agree with people upset about this heavy dialog. The beauty of the old way to copy and paste to a new file was its speed and ease of use. Designers are expected to turn out top quality art and photos, and production demands that we do it fast.

6 months and still a horribly designed and slow dialog (that's sadly also been added to InDesign and Illustrator). Please, please, please fix the New File dialog performance! The old dialog was fine and the new one is soooo slow! It should not take multiple seconds on a fast computer to create that dialog. Dialogs should open instantly. If you can't fix the speed issues, then put the new templates into a different window, like File > New > From Template (or something). The new interface doesn't even make good use of screen space. The thumbnails for blank documents are useless and waste tons of space. The size labels (which is what you care about are small and harder to read). They are very poorly designed.

Here's how to test if the dialog is fast enough: Hit Cmd–N and Return right away. The dialog should open and dismiss right away, creating a new file. This is a very common procedure when copying and pasting into a new document. There's no need to see the settings because they are already correct. This should not take multiple seconds, it should be virtually instantaneous (like it used to be). Please please please fix the per
