Photoshop 2017.0.1 Select and Mask Tool problem

After I make a selection on my image. I click the select and mask button and it opens with the selection on a white background. Then when I try and feather, smoothe or shift edge on my selection nothing happens. Nothing changes. I reset my photoshop, I reset my tools and still have no luck. This is highly irritating. It just stop working.

Not sure why. butt if your used to the old refine edge, it is still there. Instead of choosing Select and mask with the button. Hit Select menu and click Select and mask while holding the shift button. The old refine edge will open.

In the mean time, please post your system specs, "ie video card, memory OS version." That way other won't have to ask tto try and diagnose your problem.

After I used the old refining tool it started to work again.

Yeah, sometimes you have to wait 20-30 seconds for the settings to apply to your image and if you hit OK before it renders, then the settings don't apply to your mask/selection.
