Photoshop 2015.1.2: Can't eyedrop from background color

Ever since the latest Photoshop update I'm unable to eyedrop from the background colour.

Example process:
1. draw a shape
2. double click shape layer to change colour
3. attempt to eyedrop from the background colour

In previous versions of PS you could eyedrop from both background and foreground colours, now it seems to be foreground only.

Specs:
Device: MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012)
OS: Mac OS 10.10.0
Photoshop 2015.1.2

I'm able to do it without any difficulty. 10.10.5 and same version PS. I take it this is with any file even after a cold boot? Have you tried trashing Prefs?

It's working just fine for me on MacOS 10.11.4.

If you are really on MacOS 10.10.0, you need to install the OS updates ASAP.

Tried upgrading to El Capitan just recently and got that weird "core storage operation" error. I don't see how a minor OS upgrade should affect something that's been working fine for years though.

I don't know, either - but the operation is working just fine on all my machines.
