Photoshop: Photos are saving as eps files

I've been using photoshop for about 2 years now, and this problem has never occurred until now.

I opened my NEF files in Camera Raw to edit lighting like I always do and then open the image in Photoshop to do further editing with Topaz. Only this time, for some reason my pictures were saving as .eps. This has never happened before!

So I went back and manually saved it as jpg and added the ".jpg" after the picture name. I was trying to upload it to my site, but it's saying it wasn't able to read the picture, so i went back to photoshop to reopen it, and sure enough it was STILL an eps file, even after manually putting the .jpg after the name and selecting JPEG for the format. Please help me figure out what I'm doing wrong and how to fix it. Thank you!

Change the file extension on the name doesn't change the format.

Which OS version are you using?

Which version of Photoshop? Have you installed all the updates?

And did you mistakenly copy plugins from an older version of Photoshop?
