Photoshop: Photomerge and Image Processor fail without report

I am trying to merge several screenshots of Google Maps for internal purposes. When I try and use the Photomerge tool on the files, it simply does nothing with no error message or file opened, or it opens one or two images and then closes out. Photoshop does not crash per se, but nothing happens. If I try and open the images in Photoshop and click "Add Open Files," it says the images must be saved, even though the images have not been changed.

I've tried processing these same images using the Image Processor tool and it either is unable to open the images if I point it to the folder, or says "Sorry, I could not process the following files:" if I ask it to use open images.

I've tried restarting and running Disk Utility First Aid.

P.S. This site is ridiculous to try and navigate. You apparently can't login from the most recent version of Google Chrome for Mac.

Hmm. Something must be changing the files when they are opened.

If you simply open the file and try to close it, does it ask if you want to save the changes?

If you move your files to the desktop does it work correctly? Also, you have multiple periods in the file name which may be confusing it. If you name the file with a single period for the extension, does it work correctly?

Uninstalling removing preferences and reinstalling has corrected the issue.
