Lightroom: Perspective crop tool

Would it be possible to add a perspective crop tool in Lightroom like the one in Photoshop, where each corner of the crop can be adjusted individually? I do a lot of artwork reproduction and I have to adjust perspective sllightly on each shot to eliminate the background. I can do all my work in Lightroom except I have to jump in Photoshop just to crop the image precisely. Then I end up with two files for each image, which is a waste of hard drive space. A perspective crop tool in LR would be a great addition for me.

I too would love this. Please add a way to perform a perspective crop from with Lightroom. Currently this requires a roundtrip into Photoshop. I personally use it allot when fixing photos taken of buildings, murals, paintings etc. Making this feature available from within Lightroom would save a lot of time, and greatly simplify my workflow.

Just so you know, you can do this in LR, but the ui/ergonomics are very poor. An improved perspective correction ui has been a popular request.

Hi Rory,

Well this is news to me! Can you explain how to do this?

I am not close to LR but you can correct perspective in the lens corrections panel and combine that with the crop tool. It is awkward but possible.

OK, I know what you mean, but, like you said, it is not very intuitive and certainly too slow a process for my needs.

Thanks

I would like this perspective crop also as I use LR for art photography.

Have you guys looked at "upright" in Lightroom 5/Camera Raw 8? It should automatically do this for you and be applicable/syncable across shots.

I'm in the middle of evaluating lightroom for artwork/painting copy work, and I'm quite shocked that a true perspective crop isn't supported. I can't find any combination of cropping and lens correction that properly squares up a photo of a painting.

This is a deal breaker for me - I'm going to stick with my current workflow if I can't find a decent way to do this inside lightroom

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Lightroom Feature Request: Add quick perspective crop tool.

In Photoshop CS6, the quick Perspective Crop Tool was introduced. I know Lightroom has the crop tool, and the other adjustments, but being able to click four points or adjust each corner in the Crop tool section in Lightroom would be great!
