Hey guys, basically what's happening is that when ever I use my pen tool to make paths and try to fill it, it fills everything outside of the path, how exactly do I fix this? It's extremely annoying

On the pen tool options bar, open the path operations menu (hidden under a square icon just right of the H field), and change it back to "New Layer" or "Combine Shapes". Worst case, open the tool preset picker on the left, open the gear icon on the upper right of that, and reset the tool.
