It would be great if there was a pen tool for making custom selections instead of just the brush. Who agrees or disagrees?

Can you elaborate on how the pen tool would behave differently from LR's brush tool?  (I think everyone has different assumptions about what "pen tool" might mean.)

For instance just making selections around objects with lots of corners. Say you had an image of buildings but wanted to make adjustments to the sky. I think the pen tool would be much easier to get around the corners where the sky and buildings touch. Otherwise sure for a large selection like the sky you could use a large brush to cover most of it but when you get to the corners where the buildings and sky touch, you'd have to adjust the brush size and it just seems more tedious.

This is just one example though I mean I edit images of cars and its sometimes more difficult to paint a selection over a whole car or a part of it. I'm also more comfortable with a pen tool.

You can brush straight lines with the adjustment brush -- rather than holding the mouse down, click where the line should start, and then shift-click where it should end. Each time you shift click, it draws a straight line from where you last brushed.

For windows, for example, I often select a low value for Feather and Automask, then straight-line brush the edges of the window. Then with Automask turned off, I fill in the window. When Automask doesn't work as well, I'll brush a straight line without it. Here's a video: Dropbox - straight-lines-adjustment-brush.2019.03.01.mov
