Pen pressure size control results in very light brushstroke

In the last week or so, I have been experiencing a problem with pen pressure that I never had before. Before, I would set size control to pen pressure, paint normally, and get normal looking brushstrokes with no issues. Now, when I have size control set to pen pressure in shape dynamics, I get an extremely light brushstroke, though it does taper according to pen pressure. If I press excessively hard, it almost looks to be the normal thickness and darkness that I normally get with pen pressure, but it's still not great, and I can't paint while pressing really hard. I've messed with every setting I could think of, restarted PS, restarted my stylus, etc. I guess it could be a hardware issue - maybe tablet suddenly not being sensitive enough to pressure? However, I have tried painting on other apps that have pen pressure and it looks totally normal; also, when I turn pen pressure off in Photoshop, I get a line of normal thickness/darkness, just without the normal tapering pen pressure creates, so those 2 things make me suspect that's it's not an issue with the hardware. If anyone can provide a solution, I would be very thankful! I may just be missing something obvious.

The first screenshot is of the brushstrokes: stroke 1 (far left) is normal with pen pressure, stroke 2 (middle) is pressing very hard with pen pressure, and stroke 3 (far right) is normal without pen pressure.

The second screenshot is my settings.
