Elements 14 having problems with EPSON printers

1.Paper (all types) just rolls through the printer without printing. Have to run it through a number of times - maybe will print on third attempt.
2.Setup for printing my 1/2 page (8.5x5.5) cards has changed. Paper options have changed, when I deselect "center" and type in my 5.5" to get the picture to the bottom of the page, nothing happens. I have to manually drag my photo around to line it up. I have been making cards for years now, and this nonsense just started recently when I started using PE14. Bottom line... PE14 does not play nicely with my printer (EPSON Artisan 1430)

All of those symptoms sound like something is wrong with the printer driver (which manages the printer, and the page sizes).

What OS version are you using?

And have you contacted Epson about these problems with their driver software?

Nothing wrong with the printer driver. I actually tried installing the latest drivers from Epson but nothing fixed the glitches I was experiencing after I after upgrading to PE14, and only from within PE14. All other printing functions worked as they always had. I uninstalled PE14 and reverted back to PE12, and the printing process works perfectly, as it had being doing when printing my work from PE12 before I upgraded to PE14. Ergo - PE14 not playing nicely with Epson printers. Be nice if Adobe could look into this issue, if they want us to upgrade to the newer version of PE, that is.

Yes, what you described are problems with the printer driver. The application does not drive the printer, nor does it maintain the paper sizes (the app just gets the size from the driver).
Elements 14 uses newer printing APIs than Elements 12 did -- and those newer printing APIs tend to have more bugs because the printer maker hasn't debugged them as much yet.
You would most likely see the same problems with Photoshop or Lightroom (other apps that use the more modern printing APIs).

Chris, thank you for clarifying. Your explanation sounds perfectly plausible so I will go back to Epson and remind them that they are lagging behind, maybe? I value your help, Chris.
