Elements 13: Doesn't update to Camera Raw 9.1

I installed Adobe Photoshop Elements 13 Trial version succesfully. It will however not open RW2 raw files from a Lumix G70 (=G7 in Germany). I updated via Help->Update, but no update for ACR 9 is available there. I then tried manually updating Camera Raw to 9.1. It installed fine manually, but when opening PE13 it still shows version 9 for ACR and not 9.1. Please advise. PE13 is useless for me if I can't open RW2 files.

You are not alone.
See that discussion:

You can use the free Adobe DNGconverter to batch convert your raw files to the DNG format which Elements 13 and before can read and edit.

Well. In the mean time I have found a work-around, and it now finally works (after manually installing ACR 9.1):

"You can get ACR 9.1 to work with Elements 13.1. I have it working fine. You have to go to a little extra work though. The ACR 9.1 installation program will install it into two directories, "CC" and "CS6". You have to find the CameraRaw .8bi file in your Elements installation, delete it or move it to another directory then copy the .8bi file from the CC or CS6 directory and place it where the Elements CameraRaw plugin was."

Cheers!

Leon W - Can you be more specific (step by step) please? I have spent so much time trying to figure out why I can't open my RAW files with my new camera, and I believe what you wrote 4 months ago is exactly what I need to do. I'm using Windows 7. I have PS Elements 13. I need to update to ARW 9.1.1 to be able to open my RAW files- but I don't understand your steps. Can you please help me? Or Mike Michel- can you explain this to me?
Thanks. I'm not even sure how to see if you reply- so can you reply in an email?

Yes, Elements 14 can be updated automatically to ACR vesion 9.3.
(menu Help > Updates);
I have been able to manually install version 9.2 in Elements 13.
That involves downloading the installation files for manual installation.
For Windows:
http://www.adobe.com/support/download...
For Mac:
http://www.adobe.com/support/download...
Then you have to replace the Camera Raw.8bi file in the folder:
C:\Program\Common Files\Adobe\Elements 14\Plug-ins\File Format
by the one in the CC\Plug-ins\File Format.
