A system hang or freeze requiring a computer restart usually means a low level failure such as a driver (video card driver, etc), failing/damage hard disk, damaged OS installation, or failing hardware (hard disk, video card, etc).

In your case I would suspect a bad video driver.

Determine what video card you have and go *directly to the manufacturers website (nVidia or ATI/AMD)* and download the latest driver: http://blogs.adobe.com/crawlspace/201...

Just doing Windows Update won't give you the latest and greatest drivers. You must go directly to your card manufacturers website to check for driver updates.

What GPUs do you have in your system?
NVidia recently had a BSOD/kernel_security_check error in their drivers, and I think the fix is in their beta drivers at the moment.

Please let Nvidia know about this -- they need to hear how it is affecting customers.
