Photoshop: Path offset for shapes/vector mask.

Since we have basic pathfinder options for shapes/vector masks, and CS6 brings in a stroke feature just like Illustrator, why not complete the package and bring in a Path Offset option? That's one of the few reasons I open up Illustrator these days, just to get a path offset. Seeing as selections have Modify -> Expand/Contract, I think it would make sense to bring this basic operation for the vector side of Photoshop.

What do you think?

I think it may be more difficult to implement than us lay-persons might immediately appreciate.
And as Adobe seems to be bent on getting its users to move to the cloud subscription model anyway (with Illustrator being part of the package right away) I doubt that the feature is likely to get much consideration ...
