Pasting vector graphics from Illustrator to PhotoShop not working

Since some CC Updates its no more possible to copy & paste vector graphics from Illustrator (currently 21.0.0 here) to PhotoShop (2017.0.1) via clipboard. Instead PS shows this error message:

(Says: Cannot place/insert because the PostScript data is empty or invalid)

Resetting all preferences did not help.
AI settings say that SVG, PDF and AICB are copied to the clipboard:

Any ideas?

Thanks
Tom

You don't say what platform you're on. I'm on a Mac running Yosemite and I'm having no difficulty. I don't have AICB enabled, but I shouldn't think that made any difference. The usual place to start troubleshooting is to delete your Preferences, especially as you said this began with the update. That's often when preferences between old and new collide and you get odd things happening, or not happening as in your case.

If that fails, come back with  information about what you're running and what you're trying to copy/paste into PS, and someone here may be able to do more to help you out.

Hi Cristen,
I'm on Mac OS Sierra 10.12.2.
If AICB is enabled in AI or not makes no difference.
I've already resetted (=deleted) all preferences.
It doesn't matter what I try to copy. Everything, even a simple rectangle, fails.

Copy & pasting from AI to ID works fine. Same for AI to Affinity Photo. So to me it seems that PS is the culprit...

Okay, I'm googling this and it appears it's happening to lots of folk, it does seem to be PS that is the problem, and so far, Adobe hasn't been able to repro it with the files they've received. There's another thread open here on this right now.  This is the link I copied. https://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/could-not-place-because-the-postscript-data-i...

A very old thread that turned up  on Google had Chris Cox saying that it's possible there's a utility that's interfering, although why it would start between one version and another, I don't know and he didn't say. Someone on an old thread back around CS5? said uncheck SVG, but that was because they weren't getting a dialog box at all. Apparently back then, PS was deciding if it would honor SVG, it would insist that anything that was on the clipboard was SVG.

Having SVG checked, however, isn't affecting me, so it doesn't sound like that old bug is back, unless it only ever  affected some people on certain days or phases of the moon. I'm sorry, but I can't find anything more on it than this. Hopefully now they're back from vacation, Adobe will be able to find the answer since so many are afflicted.

Everything is fine again :)Some update fixed copy & paste from AI to PS. Don't know which update... suddenly it worked again.

Cristen, thanks!
