Photoshop: Panels unnecessary wide in Swedish version of PS CS5.1

I use a swedish version of Photoshop CS5.1 at work. The minimum width of the panels are *very* wide compared to the english version, with no possibilty to narrow them down. For example, the Actions panel is forced into a two column view.

There is lot's of extra - unnecessary - space in the panels, even when all available functions and tools are visible.This eats up a lot of valuable screen space. If I use two columns of panels, they cover about 35% of the available screen space (!).

I found a trick to change the language of my installation of Photoshop to default english, and suddenly I was able to resize the panels again. This seems to be a bug, but since I do not use CS6, I have no idea if this is already fixed.

The problem is discussed in this thread at adobe.com;

Best regards.

Photoshop measures the strings and UI components to size the panels and other UI elements. So it sounds like something in the OS is telling Photoshop that the strings or other UI elements are much wider than they really are.

Have you tried the CS6 trial version?

Thanks for your reply Chris.
I have now installed a trial of the swedish version of Photoshop CS6. It seems to be flawed by the same problem, I'm afraid.
