So I load up photoshop on my Windows 7 (photoshop cs5 portable) and then click the paint bucket tool and it just shows progress bar and stay there......what's wrong???

Also, the brush tool doesn't enlarge. Like if I put it at 2500 it's still small, when usually it's huge.

Look at the zoom factor for your document. You created a HUGE document by mistake, and Photoshop is taking a long time to apply the paint bucket to that huge document. The same goes for the brush - the 2500 pixel diameter brush takes up around 1/20 of the height, so the document is probably over 50,000 pixels tall.

Also, there is no such thing as Photoshop "portable", unless you count the malware ridden pirated versions found on less reputable pirate websites.
