Elements 11: Overwhelmed by duplicates

I just upgraded my computer from windows vista to 7, I had picassa but decided to upgrade to elements 11 it pulled photos from from every corner of my computer and my external hard drive, now I have a list of files with thousands of duplicates the photoshop starter edition I had years ago automaticaly excluded duplicates if I remember right? am I missing a easy way to do this?

I might add it also duplicated the same picture in the same file 3 and some even 4 times!!

If you import images in Elements Organizer11, then by default it will skip the duplicates (you don't need to do anything similar to that in Starter edition).

But if you have images in Organizer (already imported) then:
1. Select all images (or the set which you think contains duplicates).
2. Select 'View->By Visual searches->Duplicate Photos'. You will be presented with this screen:



Now select the duplicates shown in various tracks and click on 'Remove from catalog' button.
