Photoshop: Overlaid Pixel Sorting

I would like to do the following, & I'm wondering if Photoshop is already capable of this:

I have 5 photos of the same object at the same resolution using alternate lighting. I want to overlay all 5 photos, sort each pixel position by color intensity or brightness, & then see a new image using only 1 of those 5 values (e.g., the lightest, darkest, or any of the 3 in between).

Lightest and darkest can be done with layer blend modes or image stacks (in extended only). Median (3 of 5, if sorted) could be done with image stacks. But the other values (2 and 4 of 5) would need a custom image stack plugin.
