The organizer part of Photoshop Elements 12 crashed after I tried to find out about an icon among the photos on my a photo grid. The program began a search going back 10 years ago. I stopped the search. Then tried it again. And again.. The program froze. After I exited the program, I couldn't get back in it. I can still get to the editing part of the program, but not the organizer.

Start the organizer while keeping the shift key pressed. That will open a menu with different options to avoid opening a possibly corrupted catalog:
- repair the current catalog
- open a new catalog
- open another existing catalog.
This should show you that the organizer works, and the repair option often works for the current catalog.

Thanks for the reply.  I tried doing this 7 or 8 times without success.  As soon as i click on the organizer, even with keeping the shift key pressed, it blinks away.  The photo editor still works.  The photo editor still has a blue icon.  The one for the organizer has turned gray.
