Hello Joop

Please see our FAQ Forum post "How do I share my photos in Revel" http://forums.adobe.com/thread/115799...
You can change the order of the images by adjusting the date or event for that image in your album.
For additional helpful information regarding Revel , please see our main FAQ Forum http://forums.adobe.com/community/ps....

Let me know if you have additional questions
Thanks

It's frightening to see an official answer to the question about sort order is to change date and time of photos.

I actually meant to write just by event & not date. I am not able to edit it.

The ability to set a custom order for photos in an album is an important one. If you intend the album to be used to show your photos then it is likely that some will not be best in the order they were taken. It can be done in Google+ and in iPhoto though not in either Revel, Flickr or Shotwell. Altering dates is just all wrong.
This means I will use iPhoto/Google+ until Revel has this feature.

When you change the date in Revel in track view it is only adding that date to be viewed in Revel. The changes in Revel are non destructive as the original exif date will still stay the same.

So, if the date is changed and the photo is exported, where in the exported file is the modified date stored?

Hi Joop,

There isn't a way to define a custom sort order currently. All of the sorting is done by time and date. You could manually alter the time/date but I wouldn't recommend it. This is a common feature request so hopefully more options around this will be added in future versions.

Time and date is a good first sort (I guess). But why is it backwards in time (latest first)?

Please help me use revel online, since I cannot use on mac OS10.6.
I would like to have features similar to those in photoshop.com. I cannot even rearrange my photos in revel online.
Can revel site be used without downloading app?
Thanks

The albums from Photoshop.com have the picture order messed up, mostly just backwards, but some have a complete scramble of order. Also, some photos were rotated 90 degrees. I don't see any facility to edit these albums so they can be straightened out again.

Sorry about the troubles. How many of the photos migrated were rotated? Had they been edited in Photoshop.com prior to migration?

Pattie,

The rotated photos were edited in PSE before being uploaded to Photoshop.com, and they displayed properly before the transition to Revel. In the Photoshop.com album building facility you could drag and drop the photos to edit the order in which they are shown. In Revel I can drag a photo to another position, a + sign even appears withing the dimmed image being dragged, but when dropped there is no change.

Thanks. I'll look into the rotation issue. Currently you do not have much control over the sorts, but there have been many suggestions as to how people would like to see it. There will be improvements in future versions.

Thanks

it appears the rotation issue is camera specific. In most cases, the rotation is as expected. There are some where if the camera is upside down, it does not rotate, but if sideways it will.

Being able to change the order of the images in an album seems like a pretty basic task. It just boggles my mind that Revel cannot handle this (this was an easy thing to do in ps.com).

I'm also a bit upset that when the albums were transferred from ps.com to Revel the order of the images was not preserved. Now I have a lot of work ahead of me in getting the images in the correct order....well, if it were possible to set a "custom order."

Color me not happy at all with Revel.

I just moved all my photos from photoshop.com to revel. Where are all my tags? And can I search by tag?

Tags you set in Elements will not migrate to Revel. We hope to improve support in the future, but I can't promise exactly when.

Revel is not doing some things that should be first, For instance a user cannot move his own photos from one palce to the other for a custom order. Also there is no way to see the name on any of the photos. Get with it Revel!

You have said that photos can be ordered by "event". However, I can find no way to enter an "event" for a photo. How is that done?

Sorry for the confusion. The events can not be accessed on the browser version of Adoberevel.com. It can be found on the apps. On my iPad, in the view album by date screen, click on the date and you can edit or add the event name.

Adobe you are so much better than Revel- Photoshop.com was an excellent on line tool Revel is not. Revel does not let you customize the order of each picture and regardless of what your team says it does not automatically sync with Elements 11. I love your products but this one sucks

It has been 7 months, and I thought I would be impressed with Revel. So far, I am not pleased with the fact that the only way to organize photos is by date. get it togethor, and fix it, please.

thanks

The sort order function was the first thing I looked for in Revel. It wasn't there, it still isn't and so I have written Revel off as being of no serious use.

Elements 11 does not claim to do album syncing with Revel.

In Elements 11 you can upload to a Revel library or export to Elements, but not sync both directions automatically.

Elements 12 has introduced mobile albums, which is a two way sync with Revel.
I hope that helps to clarify the issue.

I just purchased an upgrade to Elements 12 because PSE 9 can no longer share with photoshops.com/Revel. I'm unhappy to find that my shared gallery is not in the custom order I selected in Elements. Furthermore the date sort "Oldest First" isn't working as I expect - I don't know how it chose the order but it's not that order that I took the photos.

In PSE 12 there is an option to sort a gallery Oldest first, and that is working OK. I can understand that a Custom Sort take a bit more programming, but why isn't the Date Sort at least working as in Elements? (I'm even less happy to find that others raised this missing feature 6 months ago and it is still missing.)

Can someone please help me! This happened to me also -- I had scanned 1,100 slides of my parents, put description and dates on them and now I get them in Revel out of order and with no dates or descriptions. I want to just move my photos out to my computer where I can reorganize them -- how do I do this. In fact, I would rather have the Photoshop side with the dates and descriptions but that may not be possible. Please help, this was suppose to be an easy Christmas gift!

Hi Kathy-

When jpg photos migrated from Photoshop.com to Revel, what went with them was GPS coordinate (geo-tag) data, captions, Albums, album title, whether it was shared or not , and comments for photos in public or semi-public albums. You can change the date for a photo in revel in case you have some that are wrong, like in the case of scanned photos, etc.

On adoberevel.com or the apps, you can view a photo and download it to save the individual photo to your computer. It soundsl like you want to get many already organized photos to your computer. The only way I can think to do this is by either using the mobile album feature in the Elements 12 organizer, or by downloading files from Revel to the Elements 11 or 12 organizer. If you are not familiar with it, Photoshop Elements is a consumer photo editing program that also has connectivity to Revel. Here are some links so you can see how it would be done:

ELEMENTS 12
http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elem...
http://helpx.adobe.com/pdf/elements-o...

When the announcement went out that photoshop.com sharing and storage was being discontinued, users were given the option to archive their entire collection to their computer. This feature was valid for 7 months and was discontinued when the files were deleted from Photoshop.com (after the migration to Revel) in August.

I uploaded a bunch of pictures and they finished uploading in a different order than what was chronological for the original images. There should be a way to sort by date/time of the original file uploaded or use file name, since all my images can be sorted by file name.

Hi Warren

The files in Revel will sort by the date the photo was taken and sorted by oldest or newest. In the iOS version of revel, you can change the date by doing the following:

iOS: if no date is not available in metadata, we show upload date.
go to show >dates. You will see all photos with dates as per the metadata (or upload date in case original date not available). You can tap on the pencil icon & edit the dates manually if you want.
