Photoshop CC 2014: Optional Multiplugin, including HSB/HSL, does not work

I tried to install the official Optional Multiplugin on Photoshop CC 2014 on Mac OS X Mavericks, but it says "Could not complete your request as it is not the right type of document."

This is similar to this question, but the workaround found there (using 32bit Photoshop) is not applicable on the Mac, AFAIK.

Is there a way to get the HSB/HSL to work?

Is there any other plugin allowing HSL adjustments?

Sounds like you didn't decompress the plugin or downloaded the wrong version.

Yes, the optional multiplugin for CC 2014 should work just fine.

I cannot find the "optional multiplugin for CC 2014", only the version I linked above.

Can you check that link and tell me if it's the right version?

I have the same issue. The optional HSLHSB filter no longer runs correctly in the latest build of CC 2014 for Mac. It open, but there is no input selection, just selection on the output side. It runs, but without being able to specify RGB, HSL or HSB on the input side, it runs pointlessly.

If there is an updated version to plugin, I certainly cannot find it! Any luck? This is an essential filter for my color work.

Can you post a screenshot of what you're seeing?
I can't reproduce that problem with the HSBHSL UI.

Hi Chris:

Thanks for taking a look. We also just went about hashing over the issue here;
https://forums.adobe.com/message/6698572. The conclusion from that conversation is that its likely a bug in the Mac version.

OK, the first screen capture below is of the filter coming up after selection---note there is no INPUT MODE. The second screen capture is selecting an INPUT MODE, but then there is no ROW ORDER! Believe me, I have used this filter since it came out, so what it is doing now is just strrrrrrrrrrrrrrange! And again, it worked right up until the latest update on CC 2014.

I am running the lastest version of CC 2014, running on 10.8.5, with the latest supplemental update to the OS.

No, and I think the people who should be working on it are busy right now.

Thank you Chris---I know you share my frustration. I appreciate it. Good thing I have CS6 still installed so I can reach back to it to do this one very important function for my work. Again, my thanks---let me know if the rocks shift. Pete

Hi Chris: I dont suppose the ps programming kiddies have made any progress on this issue? Really, two months to repair a key function in PhotoShop? Do they even understand how important this tool is to image making?
I know your doing the best you can for us. I just wish some one would get their Porsche impounded until they get this fixed. :) Pete Myers, Santa Fe

Photoshop CC 2014.2 includes HSB/HSL in the required plugins, it is no longer optional. Unfortunately some of our web site maintenance is not quite as speedy (I keep requesting an update, but it never seems to happen).

Some good news: the HSB/HSL plugin is now part of the default/required plugin set in Photoshop CC 2014.2.

Hi Chris. All of a sudden HSBHSL is NOT working again in version 2014.2.1---just me or is there an issue again?

Don't know -- but the plugin is part of 2014.2, and should be working for any RGB image.

Hi Chris: I had it working when 2014.2 downloaded---worked fine. Then I got an update, and it appears not to be working again---same issue as before. I will go recheck everything on my end. Pete Myers

OK, I think I found the problem. I will keep testing it over a few days. For those of us that tried to install the Optional Plugins previously, the 2014.2 update did not pull it out and trash it---so there was a bit of a fight going on with it still sitting in the Plugins folder. Once removed, it seems to work from the 2014.2 version ok. Will update when I have this confirmed over more then one day. Pete

Hi Chris. So I just need to sync CC 2014, and I will get the update as part of the base? That indeed would be GREAT news. My image processing computer is mostly off line, unless I need to sync, so sorry if I missed it! I am grateful to you for your hard work on this issue. You are one of my thin lines of PS sanity. I started back at PS v2.0, so its been a long ride. Pete

Hi Chris:
Now that we have the HSB/HSL issue worked out, can you get the team to finally get the Filter Family, specifically Angled Strokes to work in 16 bit mode? I have been waiting for this since Version 7. It is an important image processing tool, as it can vectorize and homogenate the grain structure in film-based photography, and blend the sub-pixels in digital photography. I think the PS team simply look at the function as something to use for graphics, when it is far, far more important for photo imaging. Contact me direct if you need example pieces to show the team.

Okay. I updated to Photoshop CC 2014.2.2 18 days ago. I cannot see the HSB/HSL plugin when I click Photoshop>About Plug-in. If it's there where do I find it? If not how can I get it?

Thanks

It is part of the multi-plugin, and installed by default.
